Agriculture and Rural Development

USAID farming project in Timor-Leste

Ten percent of the world lives on less than US$1.90 a day, and nearly half of all people live in rural areas. In response to the specific needs of communities, we deliver programs that improve access to training and resources in agricultural technologies and natural resource management to enrich rural development.

Improved environmental management raises resource efficiency and works towards alleviating poverty. We understand the importance of effective natural resource management and working with governments, communities and companies to build their capacity to manage the delicate balance of promoting economic growth while using and protecting resources in a sustainable way.

We empower people to lead their own development and then work with implementing partners to facilitate an appropriate, collaborative and multi-disciplinary response to address community needs.
