Cardno provides Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs) in accordance with U.S. EPA and ASTM All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) standards and uses all available data sources to identify and economically address challenges. 

Cardno’s remediation system services include feasibility testing, design, permitting, procurement, installation, pilot testing, efficient operation, and maintenance and decommissioning. Our remediation designs make full considerations of potential environmental or health hazards on each site. Our remediation design and implementation services focus on developing effective, cost-efficient systems.  

Our teams are experienced with a number of systems, including pump and treat, bioremediation, air sweep, air sparge, soil vapor extraction, and dual phase extraction. We pride ourselves on developing innovative design and implementation plans to ensure sites are properly remediated and no longer pose threats of concerns to communities or the environment.

Cardno’s site characterizations help our clients evaluate environmental risks and liabilities, determine remediation strategies according to their priorities, and maintain regulatory compliance. Cardno develops, manages and safely implements comprehensive soil, vapor, and groundwater investigations to guide projects to closure. Our professionals use site-specific assessments to effectively characterize properties, collecting relevant data on capture zones, contaminant transport, and biodegradation to minimize cost and reduce risks to communities. 

Cardno also supports the remediation process for Department of Defense clients to meet objectives and regulatory requirements in relation to contaminated land and groundwater. We specialize in collecting and assessing data to effectively characterize their sites and maintain regulatory compliance. Our scientists, geologists and engineers ensure compliance through sampling protocols and develop comprehensive reports with easy-to-understand analysis. 

Cardno has assisted clients with facility decontamination and decommissioning; range assessment; underground storage tank/pipeline installation, reconstruction, and removal; field investigations and reporting for perfluorinated compounds (PFCs); analysis of waste streams, treatment systems, and disposal alternatives; and hazardous waste segregation, site investigation, delisting, cleanup, and closure.
