Environmental Planning

Cardno undertakes environmental projects from preliminary site investigation through to impact assessment and management plans. We are also experienced in managing multi-disciplinary teams involving other consultants and researchers. Our team has experience in environmental planning at all scales, from specific site constraints and opportunities to city-wide and regional strategies.

We specialise in environmental impact assessments, environmental permits and approvals, conservation management and corridor planning, and environmental management plans.

We also consult, design and plan in road ecology, vegetation and fauna management plans, bushfire planning and open space management planning.

Statutory Planning

The Cardno planning team specialises in supporting private and public sector clients through the development approvals process across all levels of government. We respond to any project requirement by providing a coordinated and comprehensive range of services.

These services include federal, state and local government approval processes for any size project, master plan and structure plan preparation in the creation of new communities, and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) preparation and major project facilitation in the development and realisation of major projects.

We also provide development assessments on behalf of local government, facilitate fast-track development assessment processes and development applications in Priority Development Areas.

Strategic Planning

Our planners research and prepare spatial land use strategies and develop planning instruments including planning schemes, local plans and structure plans, which address a diverse and complex range of issues, which include:

industrial planning
rural planning
environmental planning
urban centre planning
natural hazard planning, and
tourism planning.

When preparing these instruments, we tailor the land use planning outcomes to the local context in order to enhance the community, economic, cultural and environmental values intrinsic to the area.
