Cardno provided integrated land use planning and civil engineering services to construct an alternative high school campus conducive to learning.

To better serve the students of Woodburn’s High School system, residents of Woodburn passed bond measures to move its Success Alternative High School to the main high school campus in a spacious, technologically advanced, environmentally conscious building on 5 acres of land.

The Cardno team provided land use planning and civil engineering services, working closely with the client and design team to overcome significant site access and environmental challenges. In addition, Cardno coordinated with the City of Woodburn and neighbors to construct a complete campus conducive to learning. The new building is unique in that a solar array is incorporated into the structure to provide energy for school district families.

The Success High School is one of several projects funded by the $65 million capital improvement bond passed in 2015. Woodburn’s school district has drastically raised high school graduation rates above state and national averages over the last decade through an innovative approach to high school education.
