Cardno’s experienced team provides amenity design for a master planned community that would work for all different age groups

This 6 acre amenity site is part of an 1,100 lot master planned community. The development consists of traditional single family homes, multi-family homes and senior living. This created the need to design an amenity that would work for all different age groups.

Cardno worked closely with the client to develop a program for all in addition to a variety of smaller open spaces throughout the community. This amenity included a two-story building with a walk out basement area, an outdoor dining space, a social and lap pool, and tennis courts.

The site was also the main location for the mailbox clusters which meant the site needed to have good circulation. One of the most challenging aspects of this site was the extreme topography with the site having a grade change of 52 feet from top to bottom.

Cardno solved this with a tiered concept design and an attempt to provide retaining walls as small as possible to keep costs in check.
