Tysons Corner Center is prominently located near major freeways, thoroughfares, and a new Metrorail station, enhancing the developing urban landscape by providing the first direct link to visitors and commuters from across the Washington, D.C. Metro Area to Northern Virginia.
Our engineers designed a 20-story, 526,500 sf office building, a 30-story, 500,000 sf residential tower (429 units), and a seven-level, 906,200 sf parking garage podium.
The office and residential towers sit above the parking garage podium with two levels above-grade, one level at grade, and four levels below-grade. Amenity support spaces and approximately 13,000 sf of retail space are also included in the residential design.
The towers are linked together by a landscaped pedestrian plaza with direct access to the new Metrorail station and Tysons Corner Center retail complex. The office tower structure is a two-way flat slab system with post-tensioned slab-beams in the N-S direction and lightly reinforced non-post-tensioned slabs in the E-W direction.
The residential tower structure is a two-way post-tensioned flat plate system with slabs that cantilever up to nine feet beyond the columns around the perimeter of the building. The parking structure is a mild steel reinforced cast-in-place concrete structure.
Tysons Tower office building is certified as LEED Gold and the residential tower is LEED Silver.
