The Cardno team is working with Tigard-Tualatin School District to provide land use planning, civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture as part of their $292 million bond for capital improvements. The primary components of this bond include major renovations or new construction of five schools.
Cardno is the primary consultant in charge of land use planning, including obtaining land use approval for all major projects. In addition, Cardno serves as the direct liaison between School District management and the local governing agencies. Cardno has worked with the client and design team to prepare complete development schedules from initial pre-application meetings to neighborhood involvement and public engagement, to land use entitlement, all the way through building and engineering construction document permitting.
In obtaining permits for these projects, Cardno led the effort to complete permit applications, determine plan review and permit fees, obtain necessary District authorization, and coordinate the physical application package submittal. This entails coordination not only with the local city having jurisdiction, but also the regional utility providers, and state Department of Environmental Quality.
