To support the plant, a utility provider planned a new electrical transmission substation along with equipment upgrades to an existing substation facility.
Cardno performed several environmental services that served as an integral part of the project to ensure the client maintained compliance with the relevant regulations. Our team developed an online mapping and asset tracking program to be used for plan creation.
This program was used to map facility specific information which included
- sub-meter accurate equipment locations
- serial/equipment numbers
- equipment oil capacities
- and sit security information.
This information was then used to streamline SPCC plan development, including coordination with multiple contractors and subcontractors, engineering departments, and manufacturers in addition to the final Professional Engineer certification of the final plan.
These efficiencies allowed for cost savings to be passed along to the client. Cardno completed these technical amendments and a new plan creation. These projects required coordination with an extensive project team to meet aggressive deadlines and ensure overall program compliance.
