Baseball field at night with fans in the stadium

Cardno provides civil engineering, land use planning, and landscape architecture services for the new baseball stadium to house the Class A professional team, the Hillsboro Hops.

The stadium was built at the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex, a 90-acre recreational park that is one of Oregon’s largest ballfield facilities. The stadium seats 3,600 people with berm amenities to house nearly 5,000. Features include a wide covered concourse, artificial turf field, public art displays, a kid’s play area, and a picnic area.

In addition to the baseball stadium, Cardno was involved in the original design of the greater sports complex which features a depressed 4,000 seat stadium with artificial turf surrounded by four natural softball fields. Cardno has also twice facilitated replacement of the football field synthetic surface. Each turf replacement project had aggressive schedules, with construction in the middle of winter to better accommodate sporting events.

Other services Cardno provided includes site civil engineering, land surveying, project management, and construction administration.
