The Port of Long Beach is the premier U.S. gateway for trans-Pacific trade and the second-busiest container seaport in the United States. The Port handles trade valued at more than $180 billion annually and is one of the few U.S. ports capable of welcoming the largest modern vessels.
Cardno was engaged by the Port to provide civil engineering and construction management services for the Middle Harbor Phase 2 Container Terminal expansion project.
Our team provided design review and pre-construction program/project risk analysis, mitigation and management.
We worked with the program and project managers, design engineers, construction inspectors, and operations staff to evaluate design and construction risks in relation to schedule. We also considered construction budget impacts, risk mitigation techniques to reduce impacts, and project contingency based on Monte Carlo analysis of established project risk.
