Offshore Wind Project QC

Offshore wind farm

innogy has contracted Cardno PPI UK to provide third-party inspection and manpower services for Galloper Offshore Windfarm near Suffolk and to the Triton Knoll wind farm near Lincolnshire, UK.

Offshore wind power is a growing trend worldwide, with 12.6 GW of offshore wind power operating in Europe, and 16 more GW expected by end of 2020. Cardno is excited to support renewable energy development, particularly in the European region.

For the last three years, Cardno PPI has been providing third-party inspection services and manpower services for the 353-MW Galloper Offshore Wind Farm project offshore Suffolk, UK—including coordinating vendor inspections across Europe. Cardno PPI services included providing offshore representatives and monitoring wind turbine generator (WTG) installations and commissioning, cable installations, and electrical/transformer inspections.

Galloper project partner innogy recognized Cardno PPI’s superior customer service and has named Cardno PPI a preferred provider for Galloper Offshore Windfarm. Galloper includes 56 WTGs and is expected to generate enough electricity each year to power up to 380,700 average UK households.

innogy is a partner in the 860-MW Triton Knoll wind farm project offshore Lincolnshire, UK, which began construction operations in 2018. The development will be based on 90 WTGs with a unit rating of 9.5 MW. Cardno PPI was awarded a framework agreement for the project and will continue to provide various services during the three-year construction period.

The Triton Knoll project is anticipated to supply up to 800,000 average UK households once completed in 2021. The Triton Knoll project may be expanded once it is completed.
