In November of 2017, Cardno was engaged by Kāinga Ora to provide professional services for a substantial building programme that would help transform the Wellington region housing stock and create modern and fit-for-purpose homes.
This project directly targets the type of homes needed in the Wellington Region to respond to rising social housing demand.
Kāinga Ora is renewing a big portion of the aging housing stock to build modern, warm and dry homes for people in need of housing in the Wellington region.
The project required our New Zealand teams to provide professional services to facilitate a 47-unit development on Naenae Road, Lower Hutt.
The complex work involved for the Naenae Road development included construction of a new right of way, associated water, sewer and stormwater reticulation and the installation of utility services including electricity and telecommunications.
The services provided by our team included the initial topographical survey, detailed design and drawings, stormwater attenuation, resource consent application, preparation of tender documentation and construction contract management.
Additionally, the completion certification for roading and services, reviewing of as-built drawings, 223 and 224 certificate applications and the land transfer survey was included.
The Naenae Road development project is due to be completed in August of 2020 and our team is humble of our pivotal role in the development of Naenae Road and the fostering of a new community as a result.
