Cardno managed the complex regulatory permitting and compliance process required to convert depleted gas reservoirs at the Gill Ranch into a natural gas storage facility.
The Gill Ranch project was certified through the California Public Utilities Commission through a California Environmental Quality Act Mitigated Negative Declaration instead of an Environmental Impact Report. This step saved the client time and money.
We also inventoried and evaluated water features and used the preliminary jurisdictional determination approach to support permitting, which reduced the time required for multiple wetland delineations.
Cardno developed and implemented a wide range of compliance plans and procedures that integrated various agency permit conditions. Our team worked closely with contractors, construction management staff, and operations teams to streamline internal and external communications and reporting.
