Estero Boulevard Corridor Improvements

Ground penetrating radar unit

Cardno’s subsurface utility engineering team provides a range of services to this improvement project, helping improve the safety for all users.

Lee County Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Town of Fort Myers Beach Florida, developed plans for the reconstruction of Estero Boulevard from Crescent Street to Big Carlos Pass. The project planned to replace or relocate underground utilities, build a new roadway and provide bicycle and pedestrian facilities along six miles of the boulevard, aiming to improve safety for all users and improve drainage in the area.

Working in conjunction with our teaming partner, Cardno has provided a range of services on the Estero Boulevard Corridor Improvements Project since 2015.

In 2015, the DDAI team was selected to provide the design and Surveying and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) for Segment 2 of the project, and this work was successfully completed in 2016.

Our strong performance paved the way for Lee County to award Segments 3-6 to the DDAI team, and the Cardno team was engaged to continue to provide the surveying, sketch and descriptions, SUE and right-of-way staking required.
