Cardno is providing management and systems support to Australian Volunteers International (AVI). AVI is DFAT’s managing contractor for the $190m Australian Volunteers program (AVp), which seeks to create enduring links between Australians and people and organisations in partner countries. The Program sends Australian volunteers on overseas assignments designed to sustainably build the capacity of people, organisations, communities and institutions.
Cardno forms part of the program management consortium with Australian Volunteers International (AVI) and The Whitelum Group. In this role, we’ve provided a Contractor Representative and Deputy Program Director, and support AVI in developing new systems and approaches to ensure effective project management capability and contractual accountability. This includes:
- supporting the development of a management information system to capture all program reporting and data, track volunteer data, and report on performance progress
- establishing a project operations manual to guide for day-to-day program implementation
- supporting key relationships with clients, partner organisations, and individuals to encourage strong, people-to-people interfaces
- maintaining high levels of management accountability for the overall performance of the program
Through our extensive program and project management capabilities, we will help the Australian Volunteers International (AVI) deliver professional and personal gains to Australian volunteers, ensure our country supports partner organisations in achieving their development objectives, and enable the public and governments in Australia and overseas to better appreciate the value of volunteering.
