The prominent looking building features glass on three sides and serves as a gateway to the thriving East End and Central Business Districts on one side and Capitol Hill and Union Station on the other. A plaza area, lobby and retail/restaurant spaces consisting of about 15,000 sf are located on the ground floor, and a rooftop terrace provides views of the U.S. Capitol.
The building sits above four levels, 105,000 sf of below-grade parking (228 spaces) and includes a three-level vaulted area with mechanical penthouse on the roof. The structural framing for the building is cast-in-place mild steel reinforced concrete, and the facade is a combination of precast concrete panels and a glass curtain wall. 455 Massachusetts Avenue, NW achieved LEED for Existing Buildings Platinum certification.
