Sydney Harbour Bridge: Another chapter unfolds
The new experience incorporates the northern arc and middle arm of the bridge for the first time, resulting in incredible new perspectives over Luna Park, Lavender Bay and out to the Blue Mountains.
We congratulate many of our colleagues in enabling this exciting development, in particular Sam Sarijloo, Project Manager, and Cosmo Farinola, Project Director. The endeavour is a huge success, and we commend our fantastic partners on the project; our client BridgeClimb, and contractor SKY5.
Cardno has a long history with the ‘Coat Hanger’, that began with one of Cardno’s founders, Harold Davies, who worked on the initial construction in the 1930s. Today, we continue to ensure the integrity of this magnificent structure. Our specialists operate behind the scenes to provide the pinnacle component of safety for both visitors and local daily users through structural safety inspections, and the annual safety reviews of the world-renown New Year’s Eve fireworks.
Our recent development of stair-free pedestrian lift access at both North and South ends is a significant project moment for us, and significant addition to the bridge. The new lifts provide many visitors who are unable to take to the extensive staircase with the opportunity to access the bridge walkway - an option that was not previously available to them.
The BridgeClimb is now open! We look forward to hearing about everyone’s incredible experience.
