Our native plant conservation work is a force of nature
Cardno’s Native Plant Nursery was selected to receive a 2019 Dr. George B. Rabb Force of Nature Award for its extensive work on conservation of native plant species.
The bi-annual Force of Nature Awards highlight bold, novel, and exceptional work being done on behalf of natural areas or wildlife conservation, education, and advocacy through the Chicagoland region.
In the announcement of the award, the nursery was recognized for its accomplishments among a very strong slate of nominations.
Nursery General Manager Mark O’Brien accepted the award on behalf of the entire nursery team at the Chicago Wilderness Partner Appreciation Event and Awards Ceremony at the Chicago Botanic Garden on Nov. 14.
Award Presenter Deb Chapman from the McHenry County Conservation District/Chicago Wilderness, had many great things to say about the Cardno Native Plant nursery.
"The [nursery] is on the leading edge of plant growing technologies and uses innovative bioengineering approaches to ensure successful plant growth in a variety of habitats."
