Newest Cardno ChemRisk white paper examines reopenings of summer camps and campgrounds
Cardno ChemRisk’s COVID-19 team of scientists published a white paper offering guidance and strategies for summer camps and campgrounds as they begin or continue plans to reopen during the summer months.
The authors of the white paper share general guidance in a number of areas of importance to campgrounds and summer camps.
This includes recommendations around spacing, check-in and check-out procedures, health screenings, and group activities both indoors and outdoors.
The paper provides a closer look at the unique challenges facing specific kinds of camps and campgrounds, including band/music camp, sports camps, educational camps, and overnight camps. Readers can also find information pertaining to RV campgrounds, rustic campgrounds, and campgrounds with tenting.
“Summer camps and campgrounds offer all kinds of programs and activities this time of year”, said one of the white paper’s authors, Cardno ChemRisk Supervising Health Scientist Heather Lynch. “Those charged with maintaining these facilities have to be aware of the specific precautions that staff and campers need to take to prevent COVID-19 transmission.”
