Natalie Muir appointed to FIDIC Sustainable Development Committee
Cardno is pleased to announce that Natalie Muir, General Manager - Water and Environment, has been selected as Vice Chair of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers’ (FIDIC) Sustainable Development Committee.
The International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), is the global representative body for national associations of consulting engineers and represents over one million engineering professionals and 40,000 firms in more than 100 countries worldwide.
The Sustainable Development Committee, comprised of 10 members with relevant professional expertise from a diverse range of backgrounds from across the globe, will assess, monitor, advise and further drive the understanding of sustainability within the engineering profession.
Natalie’s appointment as one of the two Vice Chair’s came on the recommendation of the FIDIC board, and in this position, she will play an important role assisting the Chair of the committee to lead the activities of committee members in the important area of sustainability.
“I am excited to be part of this important FIDIC group which will help to drive sustainable development within our industry,” Natalie said on her appointment.
“I have a passion for achieving sustainable outcomes and have a strong desire to see the Sustainable Development Goals embedded into our businesses.”
Natalie has more than 23 years’ experience within the engineering profession holding diverse roles, both technical and managerial during this time.
As a water engineer, she has led small teams with a focus on planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure through to larger teams with a holistic focus on water infrastructure.
She has also held senior managerial positions on multiple region-defining water infrastructure projects across Australia.
As an environmental engineer, sustainability has always been an area of interest for Natalie. Her experience, passion and understanding of how sustainability can help driver greater outcomes for the industry will allow her to work collaboratively with the Committee to help drive the cause of sustainability across engineering globally.
