Miles Ballogg leads discussions on turning environmentally impaired properties into thriving communities
Cardno’s Miles Ballogg, Brownfields Practice Leader, will be participating in two panel discussions at the 5th Annual Southwest Florida Brownfield Symposium, June 8, in Sebring, FL.
Miles will moderate the “Regional Planning Councils as Brownfields Catalyst” panel discussion, which brings together members of the regional planning councils from South Florida to discuss brownfields projects and successes related to EPA Brownfields grants.
Later, Miles will join other industry experts for the “Assistance in Grant Writing for Your Communities” panel. Brownfield grant applications are extensive, and the reviewers are looking for specific requirements during their evaluation. Miles will share his expertise in developing a well-written, compelling application to secure EPA Brownfield grants.
The Annual Southwest Florida Brownfield Symposium is sponsored by the Southwest, Central Florida Regional Planning Councils, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Florida Brownfield Association (FBA) to bring together developers, realtors, governments, and professional engineers to learn more about the program, hear success stories and share opportunities to develop existing brownfield sites, and the site closure process.
Miles has been involved with developing, managing, and implementing federal and state brownfields programs for the last 20 years. He is a leading advocate for environmental justice and public health through brownfields redevelopment.
