Cardno PNG offers FSV support services to employees

Cardno Papua New Guinea (PNG) is committed to creating an environment where our employees feel safe and are confident in seeking support when facing difficult circumstances. This is why we are proud to partner with Bel isi PNG, a public-private partnership working to address family and sexual violence (FSV).

In PNG it is estimated that three out of four women have experienced some form of physical or sexual violence at least once in their life – often they experience repeated abuse. Through Bel isi, Cardno PNG employees have confidential access to support services including legal, health, counselling and safe house services.

Supported by the Australian Government through the Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development program, Bel isi is playing a transformational leadership role in changing attitudes to FSV and improving services for survivors.

By bringing together the private sector, community-based organisations, the National Capital District Commission and the governments of Australia and PNG, Bel isi offers Cardno PNG employees an integrated network of services that are critical to enabling those experiencing FSV to resume their personal and professional life. Case management provides essential support to help survivors navigate the various options within their community through personalised and tailored responses to individuals’ circumstances. Where required, safe houses run by Femili PNG provide survivors (including children) with secure and professional assistance.
