Cardno International Development completes third annual Communication on Progress
At Cardno International Development, we are committed to operating sustainably, responsibly, and in a way that creates positive impact for clients, communities and our people.
Since the onset of COVID-19, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Ten Principles (encompassing human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption) have continued to serve as a compass for companies like ours to maintain value systems and principles-based approaches, whilst navigating operational pressures.
Our latest UNGC Communication on Progress (COP) presents a sample of our projects – reflecting our work across all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – and indicates how we have pivoted to respond to the challenges presented by the pandemic over the previous 12 months.
Inside the COP, you will find stories demonstrating how Cardno ID is connecting buyers and sellers of essential goods amid national lockdowns; helping to promote a future generation of exceptional women leaders; advising governments to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable groups; and providing public sanitation facilities to benefit thousands of people living in informal settlements.
Importantly, our COP also details how we have used this unprecedented time to accelerate our corporate sustainability efforts and undertake a raft of practical actions to implement the Ten Principles across our global business.
Inside the COP, you will find details about how we ‘doubled down’ on corporate sustainability efforts, including through our commitments to uphold human rights and eradicate modern slavery; increasing our actions focused on inclusion, diversity and equity, and; advancement of our work relating to digital solutions for development.
