Dr. Andrew Maier Honored for His Work in Occupational Toxicology

Cardno ChemRisk Principal Dr. Andrew Maier, MS, PhD, CIH, DABT, Fellow AIHA was recently selected as the winner of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists’ (ACGIH) Herbert E. Stokinger Award.

The ACGIH is a 501(c)(3) charitable scientific organization advancing occupational and environmental health and a high impact organization for occupational hygiene professionals. Each year, ACGIH honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession through their leadership and dedication.

Initiated in 1977, the Herbert E. Stokinger Award is given each year to an individual who has made a significant contribution in the field of industrial and environmental toxicology.

Dr. Maier has more than 25 years of professional work experience in the areas of environmental health, occupational hygiene, and toxicology. During his career, he has co-authored toxicological reviews and human health risk assessment documents for several hundred individual substances to provide health-based benchmarks that inform occupational and community health risk assessments.
