Cardno proudly supports International Women’s Day 2019

On IWD, women are recognised for their social, economic, cultural and political achievements.
Cardno also takes this opportunity to celebrate the benefits of gender diversity and is committed to driving gender equality within the business and in the wider community through the programs delivered by our International Development team.
Cardno CEO and Managing Director, Ian Ball reflected on this year’s theme of Balance for Better in terms of Cardno’s progress and contribution to change.
“I’m encouraged by the progress we are making at Cardno to address gender balance. Around half of my leadership team is female and this year we are announcing close to thirty female principal appointments – these are women who are leaders in their fields from ecology to natural resource management and civil engineering.”
“We continue to work on programs to encourage even greater diversity and we’re determined to address and improve our gender pay gap, normalise flexibility and regularly review our parental leave programs.
I am also inspired by our International Development team who, together with our donor clients, are making a positive impact on women’s livelihoods in communities around the globe by enabling them to work in heavily male dominated industries such as mining and government.
In addition to this, I am actively participating in the Consult Australia’s Male Champion of Change program, where I’m working alongside industry leaders to help improve gender balance,” he said.
