What is your greatest professional achievement?

I was the Cardno Project Manager for three large dispersed water projects in Florida. We assisted the landowners in obtaining the necessary local, state and federal permits. In addition, I oversaw the state and federal wetland determinations, all required threatened and endangered species surveys, and cultural resource reconnaissance efforts. All projects involved permitting and consultations with numerous agencies including the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The projects are part of a payment for Environmental Services Program and was designed to store and treat water on private ranchlands near Lake Okeechobee to improve water quality to the lake and adjacent wetland systems.

How is it making a difference?

Cardno permitted the first dispersed water project in Florida. The program allows alternative land uses on agricultural lands while providing water quality improvement for regional systems without the use of tax dollars to purchase large tracts of land for stormwater treatment areas.

What is your Service Line and why are you passionate about it?

Environmental Permitting is my service line expertise. I am passionate about this service line because of the many disciplines needed to support a project and the wide variety of clients who need this service. I have experience working in the natural gas transmission, energy, water resources, mitigation/conservation banking, and private development industries. I have supported permitting for threatened and endangered species, wetland impacts at the local, state, and federal levels, cultural resources, and water resources. I enjoy interacting with all our subject matter experts and interacting with our clients.

Why Cardno?

Cardno operates like a small firm but we have the resources of a large firm. I enjoy being able to collaborate with my colleagues across the country to provide clients with the best in the business.
