North Burnett Flood Mapping

Location: Queensland; Australia; Australasia

When ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald hit North Queensland in January 2013, hundreds of kilometres of road, bridges, town water supplies, parks and recreation areas in the North Burnett region were severely damaged.

Cardno was engaged by North Burnett Regional Council to deliver the $124 million flood restoration program. The project included project and contract management, and inspection of construction works at multiple sites covering roads and drainage, bridges, water supply and sewerage, buildings and parks. Cardno developed a ‘Flood App’ on this project to store the significant volume of project data and record construction in the field.
