Cardno to partner in major SEQ Water project

8/20/2009

Infrastructure services provider Cardno is to be a major consultant in one of Australia’s largest water infrastructure programs – the $300million Logan Water Alliance.

Cardno as part of the Logan Water Alliance will consult to provide a three to five year program of works including planning, design, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure in Logan City.

Cardno General Manager North and West Australia and the Middle East, Paul Gardiner, said the project will provide Logan City Council and Logan Water the capacity to deliver new and improved water and wastewater infrastructure in major growth areas.

“This project is an important part of the plan to deliver water infrastructure in a major growth corridor of the urban footprint in South East Queensland,” Mr Gardiner said.

“Cardno is very pleased to be a partner with Logan City Council and Logan Water in this important project for the city’s future.”

“Delivery of infrastructure as part of an alliance such as this one has the benefit of delivering projects on time, on budget and with incentives for innovation and savings, which are then shared between the alliance partners including Council.”

“Cardno has a long history working with Logan Council and we look forward to continuing the work with Logan City Council to deliver critical infrastructure to the people of Logan,” Mr Gardiner said.

Logan City has 261,000 residents following recent Council amalgamations to take on areas that were formerly part of the Gold Coast and Beaudesert councils. The city is expected to attract an additional 120,000 residents by 2026.

The Logan Water Alliance is a $300 million project involving private companies Tenix Alliance, Cardno and Parsons Brinckerhoff in partnership with Logan City Council and Logan Water.
