​Cardno works with municipalities, industries, and agricultural interests to assess current and future water supply demands, identify and assess the feasibility of potential water supply options, develop storage and conveyance options, and conceptualize and implement comprehensive water conservation programs.

Cardno engages in supply planning and comprehensive permitting of water projects across the globe. We work with clients to reduce their water “footprint” and help address issues related to water withdrawal, storage, delivery, use, reuse, and conservation as well as watershed protection.

We help clients balance and resolve instream and out-of-stream uses and deliver solutions to reservoir-streamflow issues. Our team advises on alternatives during planning, permitting and project acquisition, helps with agency negotiations, and prepares NEPA and state-level compliance documentation. Our goal is to provide sustainable, cost-effective solutions that balance environmental protection with community water supply needs.

Our teams have demonstrated that a thorough understanding of the water supply chain brings significant cost savings and options to enhance operational reliability. Pump storage

Cardno assists clients with relicensing pumped storage projects and recommends operations and maintenance improvements as well as environmental protection, mitigation, and enhancement measures. Other services include:
