Celebrating International Women's Day 2017

At Cardno, we are proud to support and voice our commitment to gender equality on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2017.  This year’s theme is #BeBoldForChange, and we’re taking action within our offices to inspire and encourage change both at work and within our communities.

Each of us, regardless of our gender or identity, can be a leader and take bold action to drive better outcomes for women.

Cardno is implementing change through:

Our senior leaders take gender equality seriously:

“I care deeply about gender equality, both personally and professionally.  As a son, father and husband I’ve witnessed firsthand the negative effects on those close to me, when equality and diversity are ignored, or simply not part of an organisation’s culture.  I’m honoured to help lead the way to a thriving, healthy Cardno.”
Lance Lairscey, Division Manager, Infrastructure, Cardno Americas

“I believe diversity, including gender diversity, is a global challenge for all organisations. At Cardno, gender diversity is a priority for us and we take this day to celebrate the success of our women, but also reflect on areas where we can improve our level of commitment to diversity.”
Neville Buch, Interim CEO

“My career advice to women today would be to shoot for the stars and not allow yourself to be held back by others’ (and sometimes our own) bias about a woman's ability to balance family responsibilities and a challenging career. It is OK to want both and it is possible to get balance but we cannot wait for someone else to make this happen for us. We need to be pro-active and let others know what we want from our careers and have open and honest dialogue on how we can manage this.”
Janelle Mellor, Global HR Manager
