NSW Princes Highway bypass approved and moves to the final stage

Congratulations to our client, NSW Roads and Maritime Services, on the NSW Planning approval to progress the Albion Park Rail bypass to the final design and construction phase.
This major project will have a huge impact on reducing travel times and increasing road safety for locals, tourists, businesses and freight operators in the New South Wales South Coast region.
Cardno, alongside our joint venture partner Arcadis, provided route options, concept design, traffic and transport assessments, Commonwealth referrals and environmental assessments for the project.
The final bypass avoids up to 16 intersections. The impact for the community includes improved access to local business in Albion Park, reduced flooding and greater protection of important habitat and wetlands.
This is the last Princes Highway bypass between Sydney and Bomaderry, and will save travellers to the South Coast up to 30 per cent travel time on the bypass section of highway.
