On Wednesday, 8 March 2017, Cardno representatives were delighted to attend International Women’s Day (IWD) event organised by Engineers Australia.
The event, which was attended by over 600 people, was an opportunity to celebrate women globally, but also to discuss the significant challenges and opportunities for gender equality into the future. Women and men alike discussed the universal issues facing women today, including leadership, perception vs proven capability, unconscious bias, flexibility and opportunities to tackle these issues.
Tanja Mackenzie, Senior Environmental Scientist, and Madelaine Hooper, Graduate Environmental Scientist, from NSW Water & Environment team joined the masterclass where the CEO of Leading Women, Susan Colantuono; expert in women’s leadership development, gender dynamics and hidden gender bias, shared her vision of what a leader is and what that means for developing leadership skills in women.
Cardno supports International Women’s Day which was established in 1911 and aims to promote the economic, political and social achievements of women.
