Peter Boesch

Manager Bridges

From the Phu My Bridge in Vietnam to the ANZAC Bridge in Australia, Cardno has a long history of tackling big challenges in bridge design. Our expertise extends back to the 1940s, when Harold Davies, co-founder of the company, was part of the team who created an Australian icon, the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

In Sydney today, Peter Boesch is leading the way with Cardno’s growing expertise and reputation in bridge design. As an integral member of Cardno’s team, Peter has seen the company expand in size and global reach.

“Being part of that growth is very exciting. In bridge engineering it has opened up new opportunities globally. We have an ambitious plan to foster relationships and to be a globally recognized service provider for major bridges. This is exactly the challenge and opportunity I love to have and aim for with Cardno,” he says.

With 15 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer, Peter studied in Germany and England before discovering the world of bridges.

Sustainability is at the top of Peter’s list when it comes to bridge design today.

“We’ve grown into a position where we can influence the technical approach to bridge engineering and corresponding designs across Australia. We’re passionate about sustainability and facilitating bridge maintenance during the whole of life of the project.”

“I enjoy the challenge of enabling good teamwork and giving young engineers the opportunity to develop their skills and become and stay great bridge engineers.”
