Asia Pacific Regional Quality Manager
From trainee to international manager, Melissa’s 20-year career with Cardno has grown from strength to strength.
“I started as a Trainee Administrator in the Hervey Bay office in 1994, working my way through to Administration Manager. A few years later Cardno pursued third party certification in the area of quality - and that is when I first became aware of our Quality Management System,” she says.
“I found it fascinating and was lucky enough to be asked to conduct Internal Quality Audits to make sure staff were working to the high standards we set, as well as offering suggestions on how we could improve our processes. That continual improvement piece is really what drives me.”
Soon, Melissa took on the role of Quality Representative for the Wide Bay area in Queensland, Australia which quickly grew to the entire states of Queensland and the Northern Territory, and then Western Australia.
By 2012, Melissa’s knowledge and enthusiasm saw her offered the position of Asia Pacific Quality Representative and today, she is involved with Quality on a global scale.
“It’s been a great journey so far with Cardno. The best part of my job is going into different parts of the business and seeing what they’ve developed and sharing the good ideas with others,” says Melissa.
“Cardno is a great place to work because it is full of opportunities. You are only limited by the ceiling that you place upon yourself.”
