Road Safety Audits

Understanding of Road User Behaviour

Cardno offers clients a full range of road safety audits, including audits for feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design and pre-opening stages of project development, as well as for existing roads.

Road safety audits are conducted by Cardno employees who have extensive experience and expertise in the areas of highway and road safety engineering, crash investigation and prevention, traffic engineering and road design. Our auditors also have an understanding of road user behaviour and human perception. Audits are led by qualified road safety auditors who are experienced with guidelines for each State Road Authority.

Achieving Safer Roads

Road safety audits are conducted to ensure the highest practicable level of safety for each new road project and also for existing roads.

Road safety audits consider all road users including pedestrians, bicyclists, young and old people, as well as cars, trucks and motorcyclists.

The outcome of a road safety audit is a report which identifies any safety deficiencies and makes recommendations aimed at overcoming such problems. The process of conducting road safety audits undoubtedly plays a vital part in achieving safer roads.

Cardno is pleased to participate in such projects which aim to reduce accident levels on Australian roads.
