Capability
Cardno has extensive experience in computer-based modelling using finite element
analysis.
We employ the latest software to analyse structures/components of varying geometry,
material properties and loads - or a combination of all three.
This type of computer modelling is particularly useful in developing new product
lines as it can significantly reduce costs associated with prototype tooling and
material quantities uses.
Our analytical capability includes:
- Linear elastic stress analysis of structures and components under static loads to
optimise material quantities and reduce tooling costs
- Geometric, material and contact non-linear analysis
- Analysing the buckling of structures/components
- Vibration analysis including natural frequency, frequency domain harmonic analysis
and time domain spectral analysis
- Fully dynamic analysis including shock, impact and drop tests
- Heat flow analysis including time dependant investigations such as fire modelling
We provide a full design solution and are not limited only to finite element
analysis. We can cover the whole scope of a project including the application
of design standards, computer analysis and the production of engineering drawings
and reports.
We also undertake research and development work in the building products industry.
We get involved in the development of new products and can provide assistance in
carrying out product testing and the production of technical manuals and ongoing
specialised product support.
